If you are looking for a brand new spotless guitar, this is not the one for you, but for the guitarist who wants something different from the crowd and beautifully vintage, this is it! Here is what we know about it:
It sounds fantastic with the vintage components. Clean when you want it to be, dirty when you want it to be and completely dead quiet.
I had to do some research to figure much out about this one, but I couldn't find much about it. I think it was probably made in Japan by Matsumoko -- If I had to take my guess, I would say mid to late 1970s.
This thing plays great. The action is low and comfortable. There are a few TINY scratches and dings, but nothing too serious, and overall it just adds to the character of the guitar. The pickguard is real celluloid tortoise shell. I had to spot level the frets, and there is just the slightest bit of sizzle left in places in the mid range register, but nothing comes through an amp. The D tuner is a little loose and could use some help.
As always, I cleaned it up, polished the finish, oiled the board, flushed the electronics, changed the strings and set the action as low as I could. This guitar comes with no case or gig bag, but I pack all my guitars super tight and insure every package for the full purchase amount.
